Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective October 30, 2026
Until then, the version effective October 8, 2026 applies. Read that version.
The free trial
Every plan starts with 21 days free. You add a payment card when you start, and the checkout page shows the date of the first charge. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged the plan's price on that date and then every month until you cancel. Cancel online at any time during the trial and you won't be charged, and you keep access until the trial ends. One free trial per person.
Trials that started without a card are never charged. They end on their original date, and if you choose a plan while more than two days of one are left, your card isn't charged until that date. With two days or less left, billing starts the day you subscribe, and the checkout page shows that before you pay.
How subscriptions are billed
- Paid plans are monthly. You're charged the plan's price, plus any sales tax that applies, when your free trial ends (or when you subscribe, if you start without a trial) and then on the same date each month.
- Your plan renews automatically every month until you cancel.
- If a discount applies, the checkout page shows the discounted price, how long it lasts and the full price after it.
- Charges appear on your card statement with a description that includes ASSIGNTIME.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries your card again for up to a week, and you keep access for 7 days after the failed payment. If the payment still can't be taken, your plan ends and nothing more is charged.
- We email you to confirm when a trial or plan starts and when you cancel, once a year to remind you what you're subscribed to, and between 7 and 30 days before any price change.
How to cancel
- Online: from the billing page in your Assigntime account (Manage billing in the app's Settings), at any time.
- By email: write to support@assigntime.org from the address on your account and ask us to cancel. We'll confirm by email.
Cancelling during a free trial means you won't be charged at all, and you keep access until the trial ends. Cancelling a paid plan stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
Refunds
- Partial months and unused time aren't refunded when you cancel.
- A charge you didn't mean to make — a renewal you meant to cancel before, or the first charge after a free trial you meant to cancel, for example — is refunded in full if you email us within 7 days of the charge. We'll cancel the subscription at the same time.
- Billing mistakes, such as a duplicate charge, a charge after you cancelled, or the wrong amount, are refunded whenever you find them.
- If we substantially reduce what your plan does, or shut the service down, we refund the unused part of your current month.
- Where the law gives you more, you get more.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through Stripe. They usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
Please talk to us before disputing a charge
If something on your statement looks wrong, email support@assigntime.org. We can usually put it right faster than a bank dispute can.
Waiting lists
Joining a waiting list is free. It isn't a purchase or a pre-order, so there's nothing to refund.
